Manhattan renovations, neighborhood by neighborhood

Our office is on Central Park West. Upper West Side and Upper East Side co-ops, Harlem brownstones, Midtown condos and downtown lofts each come with their own building rules, and we plan around them.

In short

MCG Corp renovates co-ops, condos, townhouses and commercial spaces in every Manhattan neighborhood, from Inwood and Washington Heights to the Financial District, working from 407 Central Park West on the Upper West Side. We prepare the contractor’s side of the board package: scope, schedule, license and insurance certificates.

Renovating in Manhattan

Manhattan renovation is apartment renovation, mostly. Clients have hired us for a full renovation on West 95th Street, a bathroom on West 97th Street, and co-op work where the board had “stringent rules” and “special requests.” That is our home ground.

The building matters more than the address. A prewar co-op on Riverside Drive, a doorman condo in Midtown and a Harlem brownstone are three different jobs: different boards, different rules, different structure. Every Manhattan estimate starts with the building’s alteration agreement and a look at what is behind the walls.

The buildings we work on in Manhattan

Prewar co-ops

Plaster walls, old risers and boards that review every drawing. We plan around wet-over-dry limits and the building’s architect.

Condos

More flexibility than co-ops, but strict on insurance, hours and anything that touches shared systems.

Townhouses and brownstones

Whole-house renovations in Harlem, the Upper West Side and the Village, often in landmark districts where exterior work needs LPC approval.

Lofts and downtown condos

Tribeca, SoHo and Financial District conversions with open plans, exposed structure and strict condo rules on hours and noise.

Neighborhoods include Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Morningside Heights, Harlem, Midtown, Chelsea, Greenwich Village, Tribeca, SoHo, Financial District, Murray Hill, Washington Heights, Inwood.

Billy and team are absolutely incredible. They helped us transform our apartment from something generic into something spectacular, assembling an all-star team for electrical work, stonework, painting, and tiling. They dealt diligently and patiently with our stringent condo board and all the paperwork required.

Alex M, condo apartment renovation

Billy and his team did my full apartment renovation on 95th St between Amsterdam Ave and Broadway. Their service was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. I am very happy to recommend MCG to others.
